The driver's side door check stop has failed twice through normal use (of opening and closing the door). I have never had a car where this part has failed even once. First time was in feb of 2017.

Intermittent closing problems with automatic rear hatch. More often than not the rear hatch will begin to close but stop about 8 inches from fully closing. The door must then be closed manually which requires effort. This issue happens both inside our garage and outside in numerous locations. It happens when the vehicle is on a level surface as well as an incline.
